January 7, 2022 — On Jan. 7, 2022, the Department of Defense (DoD), in coordination with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), awarded a contract to Revival Health Inc., located in Manhattan Beach, California, to procure 13.3 million over-the-counter COVID-19 test kits. DOD Awards $136.7 Million Contract to MilliporeSigma to Establish Domestic Production Capacity of Critical Material Used in COVID-19 Point-of-Care Tests
December 30, 2021 — On Dec. 29, 2021, the Department of Defense (DOD), on behalf of and in coordination with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, awarded a $136.7 million contract to MilliporeSigma to establish nitrocellulose membrane production capacity in the United States. The DOD’s Defense Assisted Acquisition Cell (DA2) led this effort in coordination with the Department of the Air Force’s Acquisition COVID-19 Task Force (DAF ACT) supported by the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense (JPEO-CBRND) who facilitates the DA2’s Screening & Diagnostics industrial base expansion efforts. JPM CBRN Medical Announces RPP in Support of Vaccine Acceleration Program
November 15, 2021 — The Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Defense’s (JPEO-CBRND) Joint Project Manager for CBRN Medical (JPM CBRN Medical), in collaboration with the JPEO-CBRND’s Joint Project Lead for CBRN Defense Enabling Biotechnologies (JPL CBRND EB), and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), released a request for prototype proposal (RPP) on November 10, 2021, soliciting offers for mRNA vaccine development through December 13, 2021.
