Behind-the-Scenes SOM Concealment Training

Check out some behind-the-scenes footage of the Screening Obscuration Module (SOM) during a concealment training at Fort Stewart, Georgia in February 2026. U.S. Soldiers assigned to 6th Squadron, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team and 3rd Infantry Division conducted the training with tactical resupply vehicles.

The SOM is a rapidly deployable modular system that degrades adversaries' ability to detect targets, thereby increasing warfighter and equipment survivability.

Last year, CPE CBRND’s Joint Project Manager for CBRN Integrated Early Warning achieved Full Operational Capability for the M75 SOM, meaning that all units that need the capability have received the system, trained on it and can fully use and maintain it for missions.
